WHY DO INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Indian Head Massage

Despite the name, Indian Head Massage is a mixture of various techniques for releasing tension in the shoulders, neck and head. Each school of massage, each teacher, has his own sequence and way of practising it. For example, it can be done with the client lying down or seated, with or without oil.

The technique is called Indian Head Massage because in India it has been widely practised since ancient times. They have specific massage techniques for the head and so, when massage therapy became popular in Western countries, people learned these techniques and developed their own version of an Indian Head Massage. This is why you will find many different styles depending on where you receive the treatment..

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

Content of a session

Indian Head massage can be done in a seated position or laying on the massage table. Usually it's performed without oil even if some can be applied on the shoulders and the neck. Same balm or cream can be used as well. Client needs to wear comfortable clothes

Length of therapy: 30 min.

Top
