Jungian-Informed Therapy in Dublin

Explore Unconscious Patterns, Understand Yourself More Deeply and Discover New Perspectives

When understanding the pattern is no longer enough, it may be time to explore what lies beneath it.

What Is Jungian-Informed Therapy?

Jungian-Informed Therapy is a reflective, depth psychology approach inspired by the work of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung and his theory of Analytical Psychology.

It explores not only what is happening in your life today, but also the deeper psychological patterns, emotions, experiences and unconscious influences that may be shaping how you think, feel and relate to the world.

Sometimes we recognise that certain patterns keep repeating in our lives.

We may find ourselves drawn into similar relationships, facing familiar difficulties or responding to situations in ways we do not fully understand.

Even when we recognise these patterns, changing them can feel difficult.

Jungian-Informed Therapy creates space to explore what may be happening beneath conscious awareness, including different aspects of ourselves that have been overlooked, suppressed or left unexplored.

The aim is not to create a completely new version of yourself.

It is to develop a deeper understanding of who you already are, bringing greater awareness to the different parts of your personality and finding ways to integrate them into a more complete sense of self.

At The Dublin Wellbeing Centre in Dublin 2, Ana Silva offers Jungian-Informed Therapy in a warm, confidential and supportive setting, both in person and online.

What to Expect

Sessions with Ana Silva take place seated in a calm and supportive environment. Your appointment begins with a conversation about what feels most relevant in your life at that moment. You may wish to explore a particular relationship, an important decision, a recurring pattern, a dream or a more general feeling of uncertainty.

Through conversation and reflection, Ana works collaboratively with you to consider the deeper patterns and experiences that may be influencing your situation. Depending on what emerges, the session may explore:

  • Personal experiences and recurring life patterns.
  • Emotional responses and inner conflicts.
  • Relationships and family influences.
  • Dreams, symbols and their personal significance.
  • Different aspects of your identity and personality.

There is no fixed formula or expectation that you should arrive with a particular issue.

Each session develops around your individual circumstances and what you feel ready to explore. Ana's approach is warm, grounded, inclusive and non-judgemental. The emphasis is on understanding rather than being told what to do.

What Can Jungian-Informed Therapy Help You Explore?

You do not need to be experiencing a crisis to benefit from self-exploration.

Jungian-Informed Therapy may appeal to people who feel that something in their lives needs attention, even when they cannot immediately explain what that is.

  • It can provide a reflective space for exploring:
  • Recurring patterns in romantic relationships, friendships or family life.
  • Feeling stuck, disconnected or uncertain about your direction.
  • Significant life transitions, separation or career changes.
  • Questions about personal identity, meaning and purpose.
  • Difficult decisions or conflicting feelings.
  • Unexplored emotions and different aspects of your personality.
  • Recurring dreams, symbols and their possible personal meanings.
  • The influence of earlier life experiences on present choices.
  • A desire for deeper self-awareness and personal development.

For some people, this work begins during a period of significant change.

For others, it begins with a quieter feeling that the life they are living no longer fully reflects who they are.

Both can be meaningful starting points.

Frequently Asked Questions about Jungian Therapy

Do I need to know anything about Carl Jung before booking?

No. You do not need any previous knowledge of Jungian psychology. Ana will guide the exploration through conversation and reflection, using an approach suited to your experience and interests.

Can Jungian-Informed Therapy help me understand recurring relationship patterns?

It can offer a space to explore recurring relationship experiences, emotional responses and possible underlying patterns. The aim is to develop greater awareness and understanding rather than provide a predetermined explanation.

Do I need to remember my dreams?

No. Dream exploration is one possible aspect of Jungian-informed work, but it is not a requirement. Sessions may focus on relationships, life experiences, identity, emotions or whatever feels most relevant to you.

Is Jungian-Informed Therapy suitable during a life transition?

People experiencing career changes, relationship transitions or questions about identity and direction may find this approach particularly relevant. It offers time to reflect on what is changing and what these experiences mean personally.

How long is a Jungian-Informed Therapy session?

Ana offers 60-minute and 90-minute sessions, allowing clients to choose an appointment length that suits their preferences.

Is Jungian-Informed Therapy the same as Jungian psychotherapy?

Not necessarily. Jungian-Informed Therapy draws on concepts from Jungian Analytical Psychology, but the training, professional qualifications and scope of practice of individual practitioners may differ. If you are seeking accredited psychotherapy or support for a diagnosed mental health condition, it is important to check the practitioner's qualifications and choose an appropriately qualified professional.
