My name is Siobhan McCarthy and I am a pre-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist under the professional body IACP. I hold an MA in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Irish Institute of Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor of Honours in Social Care Work from Technological University Dublin.
I work with various issues, including anxiety and stress, trauma, depression, low mood, low self-esteem and grief. I offer in-person sessions in a safe, warm and inviting setting. As we move through life, many factors and situations can affect our mental health. Whether that is job satisfaction, grievances, loss of purpose, anxiety over your future or identity issues. It is a courageous step to go to therapy and our therapy together can offer you a place to gain awareness and insight, learn how to cope with difficulties that arise in your life, and learn strategies to cope with unhelpful thoughts. I love the work that I do, my goal is to always provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space for my clients while always adhering to the IACP ethical guidelines. As a pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist, I believe therapy needs to be tailored to fit each individual client, taking into account each client's unique journey.
