Relational & Trauma Therapy

A compassionate, trauma-informed approach to understanding yourself, strengthening relationships and supporting emotional wellbeing.

Sometimes we understand why we're struggling, yet continue to experience the same emotional reactions, relationship patterns or feelings of overwhelm.

Relational & Trauma Therapy recognises that difficult experiences can affect not only our thoughts, but also our nervous system, relationships and sense of safety. By working with these interconnected aspects, therapy can help you develop greater awareness, emotional resilience and healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

At The Dublin Wellbeing Centre, Maria Lopez offers an integrative approach combining Somatic Experiencing®, Family Constellations and complementary therapeutic techniques, creating a safe and supportive environment for individuals and couples.

What Happens During a Session?

Your first session begins with a conversation about your current circumstances, your goals and any questions you may have.

As therapy progresses, Maria may draw on a combination of approaches, including:

Somatic Experiencing®
Family Constellations
Gentle body awareness
Relationship exploration
Appropriate complementary energy-based practices

Everything is explained clearly, and you remain in control of the process throughout. There is never any pressure to revisit difficult experiences before you feel ready.

Sessions conclude with time to reflect on insights and, where appropriate, practical tools to support your wellbeing between appointments.

Benefits

What is Relational & Trauma Therapy?

Relational & Trauma Therapy is a trauma-informed approach that explores how past experiences, attachment patterns and relationship dynamics may continue to influence everyday life.

Rather than focusing only on talking about difficult experiences, sessions may include gentle body awareness, nervous system regulation and exploration of family and relationship patterns where appropriate.

The emphasis is always on working collaboratively and at a pace that feels safe for you.

"Maria creates an incredibly compassionate and safe space. I felt seen, heard, and supported throughout the entire process. The changes I've experienced in my relationships and in my confidence have been profound."

"Our couples sessions helped us understand each other in a completely different way. Instead of blaming one another, we learned to recognise how our nervous systems and past experiences were affecting our relationship. We now communicate with more understanding and connection."
