Adam Harris, the Visiting Critic at The Dublin Wellbeing Centre for a sound bath!

We were excited and delighted to have Adam Harris, founder and CEO of AsIAm, visit the centre for his visiting critic journey as part of the Oliver Callan morning show on RTE. You never know how these experiments will go. We were happy that Adam felt invited, safe and comfortable visiting the Dublin Wellbeing Centre which is as he said is just off Nassau St.

It was great to listen to Adams recount of his Sound Bath / Sound Bathing Session with Karen in such detail and to understand the clent’s expectations and interaction with the process in particular someone who is sound and sensory sensitive. A definite challenge which we think he dealt with exceptionally well. Here is a link to the podcast! https://www.rte.ie/radio/radio1/clips/22499259/

We were happy to hear he had a really positive experience. That we were very kind, explained what the session involved, the different tools used and of course the option to give feedback.  Fair play for him for following through to the end despite his discomfort and to give such an interesting account of his experience.

It was great to hear Adam ponder on the opportunity he was presented with ..the interesting experience, trying to think of nothing…doing nothing, think of nothing for an hour. This can be a new experience for many people, even an alien experience, to be still and clear the mind. It would not necessarily be to try to think of nothing, but allow for thoughts to come and go, to give the mind some resting time, some time off. This could result in becoming aware of some reactions in the body. It is important for the body, mind and spirit to have some down time. They do so much for us in our daily lives and so booking a therapy is what we promote in a way of servicing the body and looking after it. A kind of preventative health care, where one gives back to the mind, body and soul by booking a therapy maybe every 4-6 weeks, engaging in new experiences for the body, could also be walking in nature, a seaweed bath, sauna and lake or sea swim. Engaging in proactive self care rather than waiting for the body to remind us through uncomfortable symptoms.

Adams dazed feeling when heading back to work down Nassau St could be the reverberation of the experience in the body, maybe a slightly delayed reaction and a possible release of tension which may have resulted in his good night sleep. The body and nervous system get what they need from the therapeutic session. The body does indeed know the score.

We often have suited people, dressed in work clothes come to centre as we are situated near many offices and work places. Everyone is invited to get comfortable, removing belts, ties, glasses and shoes in order to have the best experience possible.

We offer 50+ different therapies by 20+ therapists.

All of our therapists are professional and passionate about what they do.

A booking enquiry can be sent directly to your chosen therapist, for the therapy you would like to experience, at this link.

Loved his visual explanation of the sound bowls, as urn and hammer, pestle and mortar, trumpet thing.

The raised bed is called a plinth. I had to look up the word Gurney myself as I never heard it before, it a light bed on wheels, used to move patients in a hospital.
