About Anne Cummins

Anne is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, BSc hons and also holds a certificate in the Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness. Ann is a pre accredited member of IACP. Anne works from a Person Centred approach – which is non-directive. It is a Humanistic approach which believes in the client’s has the actualising tendency and inherent potential for creative growth and change within them.

A variety of factors can affect an individual’s ability to flourish – including low self-esteem and a lack of self-reliance.
Therapy is offered in a neutral and comfortable setting where a client can feel at ease, authentic and open to learning about themselves. In this way, the approach offers individuals the opportunity to counteract past experiences that may have affected them.
Benefits of this therapy include:
• Better self-understanding and awareness.
• Decreased defensiveness and insecurity.
• Greater ability to trust oneself.
• Healthier relationships.

In Person Centred counselling an individual can expect to work towards a closer agreement between their idealised self and actual self – and experience an overall healthy sense of change.
